BubbleWatch: NBC's 'Grimm'
SHOW: "Grimm" (NBC)
IN ITS FAVOR: Numbers for "Grimm" are unimpressive, but also steady on Fridays and the supernatural procedural has a dedicated fanbase, even if you don't necessarily know anybody in that base. NBC has been a strong supporter of "Grimm" and the network likes what the show has been able to do on Friday, even if it has generally been a bit of an island on the tough night. As proof of the network's support, "Grimm" is getting a Tuesday tryout for a while this spring after the failure of "Ready for Love." Best case scenario? "Grimm" proves it can hold its own and even grow on Tuesday. Worst case scenario? Maybe "Grimm" gets exposed to a few new/different eyeballs.
AGAINST IT: "Grimm" didn't show much new life in a Monday tryout in the fall and while its core numbers -- the 69 percent DVR bump to a 2.7 rating among adults 18-49 is particularly good -- are great for Friday, they don't necessarily offer potential elsewhere.
OUR TOTALLY UNINFORMED GUESS: "Grimm" will be back next season. The spring Tuesday tryout will give hints as to whether or not it will give NBC added flexibility in the fall, or whether it stays Fridays at 9.
FINAL VERDICT: Renewed!
