SHOW: "The Secret Circle" (The CW)

IN ITS FAVOR: In the balance, overall numbers for "The Secret Circle" will end up looking better than numbers for any of the network's bubble shows. Also, with its witchy themes and Kevin Williamson pedigree, "The Secret Circle" looks like it's perfectly and flawlessly on-brand for the network.

AGAINST IT: If you look only at the second half of the season, "Secret Circle" has the same ratings as everything else on The CW and that's pretty unimpressive when you consider the "Vampire Diaries" lead-in. "The Secret Circle" is losing half of its lead-in every week, which obviously won't fly, long-term.

OUR TOTALLY UNINFORMED GUESS: There's zero chance "The Secret Circle" will be back on Thursdays next year. That real estate is too valuable. So suddenly "The Secret Circle" would have to find a home elsewhere and The CW may not have confidence in its ability to survive without Demon, Stefan and Elena providing a boost. If development is strong enough, The CW will let this one slip away.

VERDICT: Cancelled!
