TV Season Preview: Fall 2009's Best New Shows
From 'Glee' to 'FlashForward' to 'V' to 'Modern Family,' counting down the new season's best shows
#12 - 'The Good Wife'
"The Good Wife" (CBS) - Premieres Tuesday, Sept. 22 at 10 p.m.
It's easy to root for Julianna Margulies in "The Good Wife," if only because it's easy to root for Margulies to have something better than "Canterbury's Law" on her recent resume. She's great in "The Good Wife," getting to show both the high drama of being a disgraced politician's wife, but also the workplace comedy of returning to the practice of law after an absence of more than a decade. If only the legal procedural stuff weren't so familiar from other shows and the family stuff weren't so familiar from the headlines. The supporting cast, including Matt Czuchry, Christine Baranski, Chris Noth and Josh Charles, is interesting.
