Lovely, Still is actually a pretty decent movie. I saw it at the Milwaukee Film Festival last year (it wasn't the premiere but it was pretty close to that I think), and there are some very good performances and a decent story, plus the movie is pretty funny at times.

The thing I found most surprising about a movie about two older people falling in love is that the movie was written and directed by a guy in his early 20's. There was definitely a surprising amount of maturity shown for someone so young.

  • Alex, can you elaborate on why you gave The Social Network trailer just a B+? You seem to concentrate more on whether people will *watch* the movie rather than the trailer itself. I personally loved the trailer and it piqued my interest in the film to unhealthy levels.

Also, totally agree with you on the Black Swan trailer. One of the best and most intriguing trailers I've seen in recent times... can't wait for the film!

    • Yeah, I'm not really a big Aronofsky guy, but the trailer is so very very gratuitous, I'm in.

I guess I just have a "meh" attitude about Social Network subject matter. I'm intrigued because it's Fincher, and I like the actors, but rich white kids are kind of boring.
