This list is not in the right order at all. Sound of Music is #1 for sure. Some of these should not even be on here.

Great choice for #1. It's aged very, very well - it's alchemy of craft, wit, and energy in front of and behind the camera is pure joy. Perfectly sculpted outsized performances and great stitching together by Frank Oz. Plop me in front of "Dentist!" any day of my life and I'll find a smile. And plot-starter songs don't come any more darkly funny, soul-sick, or surgically edited than "Skid Row." Great stuff.

Substitute Little Shop of Shiiiiite for Team America and you have a strong top 5.

:). I can't say I disagree with your choice for # 1, or for your inclusion of The Muppet Movie, just a little surprised Chicago didn't get more love from you guys...it won the Oscar after all. (Then again so did Crash!)

Before I forget, I just wanted to let everyone at HitFix know that I really appreciate the fine work you guys do. I've been a regular visitor to many a film and television site over the years, and between you folks and the AVClub, all the bases are covered for me. Great work, and Happy Holidays!

I'm a music teacher and know about musicals, or at least thought I did... Never heard of phantom of the paradise, will have to check that out... That said, there are a number of musicals left off. Chicago is the main one... Thoroughly modern Millie is long but one of my favorites... You should have made this a top 25 to include a few more :)
