Groundhog Day (1993)
Plot: A sarcastic, hard-bitten weatherman is forced to relive the same day over and over again while covering the annual Groundhog Day festival in Punxsutawney, PA.
What's in it for guys: Guy icon Bill Murray ("Caddyshack", "Stripes", et al.) gives a typically winning and hilarious performance here as TV meteorologist/unrepentant lout Phil Connors. His early condescending treatment of the jovial Punxsutawney residents and, later, desperate nihilism once his plight becomes clear provide a string of superb comic moments. The reclusive star and his "Caddyshack" director/"Stripes" and "Ghostbusters" co-star Harold Ramis are in perfect sync here.
What's in it for girls: The film's gooey romantic center is revealed in its second half, when Phil begins falling for his producer Rita (Andie MacDowell) and a genuinely sweet and affecting love story emerges. The chemistry between the two leads is warm and winning.
