From 'Winter's Tale' to 'A Hauned House 2' and more
'Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit'
While not a terrible movie by any stretch, "Ryan's" real crime is that it's a trite exercise in pointless name brand resuscitation that pales in comparison to earlier Ryan adventures that were actually based on Tom Clancy novels. While director Kenneth Branagh proved he could handle big budget action with panache with Marvel's "Thor," the action in "Ryan" is perfunctory and uninspired, and is punctuated by meandering domestic squabbles and toothless political intrigue. Stick with Alec Baldwin and Harrison Ford.
