The Ten Biggest Summer Movies of 2010: 'Toy Story 3,' 'Eclipse,' 'Iron Man 2' and more
Predicting the box office battle from May to August
9. The Sorcerer's Apprentice
Opening Day: July 16
Pros: If "Persia" is a disappointment, Jerry Bruckheimer can't be wrong about two potential summer tentpoles can he? Plus, it will be one of the few PG or PG-13 films in the marketplace that young boys will actually want to see.
Cons: There is a lot of family-oriented competition when it opens and in the weeks following. Unless it's got great word of mouth, this magic act may end quickly.
Projected Box Office: $120 million
Lowdown: Skeptics doubted Bruckheimer, Cage and director Jon Turtletaub's "National Treasure" and that turned into a blockbuster franchise. We won't make the same mistake twice.
