Gene Hackman won the Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his work in Clint Eastwood's final foray into the western genre, 1992's "Unforgiven." The film sported a tight but stacked ensemble, including one of Eastwood's own best performances, but the movie was owned by Hackman's villainous Sheriff Little Bill Daggett.
