'The Ides of March' and 'The Descendants' give us an excuse to dissect the actor's best work
5. "Out of Sight" (1998)
You could argue that Clooney's performance in Steven Soderbergh's "Out of Sight" is the definitive Clooney performance. A lot of threads that make the actor who he is were drawn together in the film: charm, comedy, charisma, versatility, etc. I see it as the ultimate watershed movie for the actor, the moment when you knew he wasn't going to lazily rest on his movie star laurels and was going to seek out interesting stories and characters.
