No. 2 - 'The Event'
Just because you've repressed that "The Event" ever existed doesn't make it true. Trust me. Benefitting from some of NBC's most marvelously misleading promos, "The Event" kept stringing viewers along with the promise that something -- ANYTHING -- might happen in this leaden saga of Aliens Living Amongst Us, but week after week passed literally without any progress in the main narrative. Instead, "The Event" dealt out cryptic crumbs like they were manna from heaven, with the producers resolutely ignoring that viewership kept plummeting with each passing week. Despite a solid cast, "The Event" contained no actual characters and nothing resembling a performance that went deeper than "really, really concerned." Oh and fans who stuck around and kept waiting to learn what The Event was discovered in the finale that The Event was something that hadn't even happened yet, but might be bad if it did happen. Making "The Event" even more frustrating was a finale that finally suggested the potential for entertaining things to happen. Talk about WAY too little, WAY too late.
