Mindy Kaling's comic timing and comic voice are the reason "The Mindy Project" makes this list on the "Best" side of the equation. The pilot itself, while distinctive and fresh, isn't necessarily as funny as it should be and it makes only partial use out of what ought to be a superior supporting cast. If "The Mindy Project" can evolve in the same way its FOX sitcom partner "New Girl" did in its first season, this should be a keeper. That is to say that Mindy Kaling and Chris Messina are great, but I hope the show realizes how valuable Anna Camp and Stephen Tobolowsky are as well.
