The Best and Worst New TV Shows of Fall 2012
'Beauty & The Beast,' 'Last Resort,' 'Vegas' and 'The Neighbors' make the cut
WORST - The CW's "Beauty and the Beast"
This gallery is alternating between "Bests" and "Worsts" and it's in alphabetical order by each categorization. But make no mistake: The worst new show of the 2012-2013 season -- Fall or Midseason -- is The CW's "Beauty and the Beast." It's appallingly poorly conceived on every level and that's even if the producers don't continue with their apparent plan to make this classic tale into the story of a woman who learns to be in love with an abusive man. The dismal special effects, ugly cinematography, unfocused direction and clumsy dialogue would be enough to doom the show, but the final nail in the coffin comes courtesy the wooden performances from leads Kristin Kreuk and Jay Ryan, playing a man who's beastly because he has a temper and a scratch on his cheek. That The CW is pairing its worst show with its best ("The Vampire Diaries") is just a pity, but don't be fooled.
