Why it's anticipated: Ben Affleck has already proven his worth as a star-turned-director with "Gone Baby Gone" and "The Town," and the much-buzzed-about "Argo" seems ripped from the headlines, dealing with an American Embassy under siege in the Middle East. With a heavy cast including Affleck, Bryan Cranston, John Goodman and Oscar fave Alan Arkin, and rave reviews backing it, "Argo" may be a shoo-in for Oscar glory -- or at the very least an entertaining and thought-provoking drama that will have people discussing it for months.
