A Match Made in 1985 Germany
Debbie Valder and her husband, Marty (yes, that's his real name), traveled from Schemmerhofen, Germany to attend We're Going Back's five days of "Back to the Future" festivities.
"It's surreal to see fellow Martys and fellow Docs!" Debbie said.
The couple met in 1985, so 2015 is a special year both for their relationship and the movie trilogy they love.
We're Going Back is giving the proceeds of the event to the Michael J. Fox Foundation — and that gives the experience another layer of meaning to the Valders.
“We work for a pharmaceutical company, and they do research in Parkinson's, so we're very committed to the whole idea as well,” Marty said. “We meet this trip from both ends a business point of view and a fan point of view.”
