Mary J. Blige on the '02 Grammys was - and forever will be - one of the greatest live performances by any artist on any stage ever. I have watched that video hundreds of times and still get lost. Mary is amazing.

1992 - Queensryches performance of Silent Lucidity is one that I will never forget.

Honestly he may have faded out and no longer relevant but Ricky Martin's performance of the cup of life had everyone going crazy and on their feet.

All everyone did was ask who is this for the following weeks. Best solo performance since MJ in 1988

Nice list, but would also include, as mentioned below, Ricky Martin's performance. It was all the industry (and public) was talking about the next day... we literally saw a superstar born that night (and it ushered in his move to the Anglo market), but the all-time most moving was Melissa Etheridge, still bald from the chemo, but radiant, with Joss Stone, belting out "Piece of My Heart," after she'd beaten cancer. I was in the press room--and as if she could have heard us up on stage--we all gave her a standing ovation. Everyone was a Melissa fan at that moment...
