"Mad Men" had won four consecutive Emmys for Outstanding Drama Series, and could have broken the all-time record with a fifth at this year's awards. Instead, that trophy — as well as acting awards for Claire Danes and Damian Lewis, and a writing one for producers Alex Gansa, Howard Gordon and Gideon Raff — went to Showtime's "Homeland." The terrorism thriller became the belle of the Emmy ball right before the launch of a second season that had many fans questioning the show's plausibility, pacing, and belief in the idea of Carrie and Brody's one true love. Will that skepticism hurt the show's chances at next year's Emmys? Often, all it takes is one great episode, and "Q And A" may be enough on its own for some repeats.
