Eminem era: Grown-up Eminem
Best lyric: "I'm just fuckin' depressed, I just can't seem to get out of this slump/If I could just get over this hump/But I need something to pull me out of this dump"
What makes the video great: Along with artists like Bob Seger and Kid Rock, Eminem has always shown the love to his decaying hometown, Detroit. This atmospheric Anthony Mandler-directed clip completely adds a different meaning to the song, taking the tale of his feelings of disenfranchisement and disillusionment, with Detroit’s downfall as he walks through burnt-out ruins of his beloved city. Moving and effective still, especially as Detroit’s fortunes seem to only sink further. Built around Queen/Paul Rodgers’ version of “Reaching Out,” the tune gets the haunting video it deserves
