Who would you want to represent you?
10. Arnie Becker, 'L.A. Law'
Played by: Corbin Bernsen
Why we would want him representing us: Because the iconic '80s divorce lawyer would do play every dirty trick in the book on behalf of his client — especially if that client was an attractive woman who might sleep with him in gratitude. (The downside: if his client was the husband and the soon-to-be-ex was very attractive, he might make an ethical breach or 12.) On a show with many contenders for this list (including the nobler likes of Victor Sifuentes), Arnie was the unquestioned star, the one Steven Bochco made sure to introduce us to first, and he was so goal-oriented and amoral, he calls dibs on a dead partner's office the moment he realizes it's now available in the show's famous opening scene.
