In some ways, you could devalue this sketch as simply a note-for-note parody of Wes Anderson films. But that attention to detail is the very point, and the fact that “Coterie” got so much right in so short a time span is something to be celebrated rather than dismissed. Turn the sound off, and you could fool people into thinking this parody was the next Anderson film. Turn on the sound, and you have sharp pop-culture insight and a cinematic quality that has augmented the show’s digital world immensely this Fall.
