The final slot of the evening often allows “SNL” to prove darker, weirder avenues of comedy. This was one of the weirdest, but also best, sketches to appear just before the curtain call. After looking semi-lost for most of the episode, Ed Norton snapped into sharp focus as a man far, far too eager for the upcoming holiday. The non-sequitur jokes all made semi-sense when uttered from Norton’s mouth, all part and parcel of a macabre world view that was also hysterically funny.
