Winner: Critics fact-checking Jesse Metcalfe, Noah Hawley
Press tour panels can be fickle things. NBC's "Chase" panel was whizzing along and critics were falling for spunky leading lady Kelli Giddish, forgetting all about FOX's "Past Life" last winter and then somebody -- in this case Jesse Metcalfe -- says something silly like "You know, there hasn’t been a show about U.S. Marshals yet..." and suddenly every critic in the room is compiling a list of the five or 10 shows in recent years either focusing directly or tangentially on U.S. Marshals -- "Justified," "In Plain Sight," et al -- and the Twitter Genie is out of the Twitter Bottle.
Another example of this would be the panel for ABC's "My Generation," which was going along wonderfully until creator Noah Hawley decided to call his show "the first real show of the Internet era" and suddenly every reporter in the room was going, "Ummm... Really?!?"
