Think a critics' award show would be a dry and staid affair?
Guess again.
This surprise appearance by the cast of Childrens' Programming repeat winner "Yo Gabba Gabba!" set up an expertly profane acceptance speech from "The Pacific" producer Tom Hanks and provided a centerpiece for a playfully fun ceremony that also included a mini-"M*A*S*H" reunion and a grateful Damon Lindelof reading his hate-tweets.
Plus, the "Yo Gabba Gabba!" characters stuck around afterwards for drinks and pictures.
The Emmys can't hope to compete.
