Winner: TCA Awards host Dax Shepard
The host of the TCA Awards admitted that he'd never hosted anything before, but you'd never have guessed from his confident and winningly self-deprecating turn at the podium. Or from the snazzy red suit. One of Shepard's best bits involved recalling the backhanded compliments he received from critics for his "Parenthood" performance, write-ups that began with phrases like "I wouldn't believe it if I hadn't seen it myself..."
After watching Shepard in the Sundance favorite "The Freebie" and for a truncated season of "Parenthood," though, this writer is starting to actually expect good things from the "Zathura" veteran.
