His feature debut as a director, "Interior. Leather Bar" will premiere in the Sundance Festival's New Frontiers section. Franco is also adapting Cormac McCarthy's 1973 book "Child of God" for the big screen.

Fun fact: Franco also directed Val Lauren as actor Sal Mineo, who played a chimp scientist in "Escape From the Planet of the Apes".
