Comparables: "Ice Age" (2002) - $176.3 million, "Ice Age: The Meltdown" (2006) - $195.3 million, "Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs" (2009) - $196.5 million
Prediction: $130 million
Lowdown: The "Ice Age" franchise has been incredibly durable over the past decade, but its hard to believe there won't finally be some wear and tear with our prehistoric friends. A similar example is "Shrek Forever After" which only grossed about 2/3rds of "Shrek the Third." "Ice Age 4" will benefit from little family competition until studio stable mate "Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days" arrives on August 3rd, but with so many "Ice Age" films on DVD will parents really feel the need to drag their kids to see the same story on the big screen?
