Why: The first "Hangover" was a phenomenon of epic proportions for Warner Bros. It turned Bradley Cooper and Zach Galifianakis into stars and made director Todd Phillips a major power player at the Burbank studio. The sequel delivered the second largest R-rated opening ever (after "The Matrix Reloaded") and still ranks as the no. 4 R-rated comedy of all-time just behind the first "Hangover." Still, the Bangkok-set second installment was not as well received by critics or audiences and Phillips has smartly brought his cast of characters back where it all started, Vegas, to wrap things up. If "Hangover" had less competition a $200 plus gross would be an easy bet. Unfortunately, it's going up against Universal's "Fast and Furious 6" which should eat into its overall demo (as well as 'Hangover" affecting "FF6's" turnout). The face-off is going to make for an interesting box office war over the Memorial Day weekend. At this point, "FF6" and its PG-13 rating have to be the favorites, but when the smoke clears Warner Bros. will still make a boatload off this series send-off.
