Summer 2011 TCA Press Tour Highlights and Lowlights
Where did 'Playboy Club,' 'American Horror Story' and Zooey end up?
Lowlight: The absence of Ashton Kutcher
CBS has two aging shows getting facelifts this fall, with Ashton Kutcher joining the cast of "Two and a Half Men" and Ted Danson joining the cast of "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation."
Kutcher, alas, wasn't made available to the TCA either at a panel or at the evening party. It's not that we expected him to come out and spoil who his character is and what happened to Charlie Harper, but if he'd come out for 10 minutes at the start of the morning, a few good-natured platitudes would have gone a long way.
Instead, CBS Entertainment President Nina Tassler explained, "The problem is they are in production. There’s a tremendous amount of energy and focus and attention. I mean, I would be lying if I didn’t say when everybody walked on that set on Monday, you could cut the air with knife. It’s a very it’s a very focused requires a lot of attention. I think nobody wanted to for one second and don’t forget, you’ve got your blocking. You’ve got your run through. You’ve got your rewrites. You’ve got a tremendous amount of weight and effort being put into this episode."
Now, we'll be tuning in for the September 19 "Men" premiere expecting some tremendous blocking.
