Who visited the set and who didn't
Leonard Nimoy was the only original cast member of "Star Trek" who was a part of the new film's cast, but Nichelle Nichols and Walter Koenig visited the set. George Takei reportedly did not appear in person, but had breakfast with J.J. Abrams and sat down separately with John Cho. Majel Barrett Rodenberry visited the production while they were shooting in the Nerada and also, as she'd done since "The Next Generation" TV show, provided the voice for the Federation computers.
As for the big kahuna, William Shatner, well, if you have to ask...
