9. Strong should never be a solo anchor.
That’s not a slam at all on Strong, who would probably do fine should Meyers abandon the desk when it’s time for him to take over “Late Night”. But rumors have it that Lorne Michaels wants Meyers to stay on as co-anchor even after taking over for Jimmy Fallon. While that sounds like an insane schedule to keep, it would allow for the already blossoming chemistry with Strong to develop into something more. But even if Meyers truly does leave, “SNL” would be wise to put someone else opposite Strong. While solo anchors have done fine in the past, Strong is best when playing off someone else, and Meyers’ departure would provide an opportunity for a member of the already-crowded cast to have a clear shot at establishing a presence on the show.
