Something for the kids: Children's books from Weird Al, Colin Meloy
Weird Al has certainly had some childish moments, and even put in some time in the most recent season of "Yo Gabba Gabba!" He takes kids play a next step further in his first children's book "When I Grow Up," out via Harper Collins in March.
Meanwhile, perpetual narrator Colin Meloy of the Decemberists is working on the same feat: the same publisher is putting out a middle school reading trilogy "Wildwood," crafted by Meloy and his illustrator-girlfriend Carson Ellis. Those titles will start dropping in the fall of 2011. The pair have also been chugging away at another kids' title "The Unfortunate Demise of Whitley Rackham" for Stumpton Printers.
