What do Weird Al, David Lynch, Colin Meloy and Vince Neil have in common?

Music and musicians and books: not mutually exclusive. Literary projects from Ben Folds and Nick Hornby, Colin Meloy, Antony (with Bjork), Vince Neil, Weird Al Yankovic, David Lynch, Queen's Brian May and more have been cropping up lately, so we're breaking 'em down for your reading and listening pleasure.

On Sept. 28, Nonesuch will be releasing "Lonely Avenue," an album built on a collaboration between Ben Folds and novelist Nick Hornby. The "High Fidelity" author and "An Education" screenwriter -- whose own obsession with music has been well-documented -- sent his friend Folds lyrics, and the latter wrote 12 tunes around them.

The record, "which Folds made specifically to be listened to on vinyl" reads a release, will be out on vinyl, CD and digital, though a deluxe vinyl version will feature four short stories from Hornby.

You can listen to a full track, "Levi Johnston's Blues," here. I sounds just how you think it does.

Sounds better than anything Ben's done in years.

this rocks...completely enjoyable, even if I like the other song that is on iTunes right now just a bit better. "From Above" is part of this album as well.
