With 'Iron Man 3' on the way we take stock of his best work
3. "Natural Born Killers"
The year: 1994
The role: Tabloid journalist Wayne Gale
The reason it's on the list: As an intrepid, kinda crazy reporter enamored with the exploits of modern day Bonnie and Clyde Mickey and Mallory Knox in Oliver Stone's "Natural Born Killers," Downey found the right strokes of admiration, ambition and attitude to make his character a living, breathing work of art. Just a year after securing his first-ever Oscar nod for the prestige biopic "Chaplin," the actor switched gears again here, reminding of his versatility and how deeply he can sink his teeth into a role.
