"The Terminator" (1984) "Terminator 2: Judgement Day" (1991) "Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines" (2003) "Terminator Salvation" (2009)
Upcoming movies: "Terminator: Genisys" opens on July 1, 2015.
Why: With Paramount's new 'Terminator' film this year, this will make the third time in a row that someone has made the first film in a new planned 'Terminator' trilogy. I guarantee that no remake or reboot is going to better either of James Cameron's movies, and there's nothing in the story that remains unexplored. Just saying you're going to bring back Arnold Schwarzenegger doesn't change my opinion at all. I think it's flat-out bizarre casting him as a killer robot at this point. He looks great for a guy in his early 60s who has had a few cardiac scares, but why would anyone design a weapon to look like he does now? I guess I shouldn't ask, because I guarantee anyone who actually wants to see one of these sequels doesn't care about logic or narrative coherence. (James Cameron has very recently been public in his support of "Genisys," take that as you will.)
