Anna Paquin as Rogue

Anna Paquin as Rogue

The first time Anna Paquin played a mutant she was just 17-years-old.  Fast forward 13 years later and the 30-year-old Oscar winner has spent a good chunk of the last four years playing a half-human, half-fairy Southern belle fighting and falling in love with vampires in HBO's "True Blood."  We think Paquin needs a break from Bon Temps, how about you? In "X-Men: The Last Stand," the producers made the terrible decision to allow Rogue to take the "mutant cure" so she would no longer have her dangerous powers.  That creative decision was a betrayal to the character and the whole point of the mutant allegory - accepting who you are. Granted, the last official scene in "The Last Stand" suggested the "cure" wasn't permanent, but having a significantly older Rogue be more comfortable and in control of her powers would be much more satisfying for comic book and movie fans alike.  Even if it is depicted in just a few scenes.
