Not only did Cruise lose his wife this summer, but the blockbuster mojo he'd found again with "Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol" has now evaporated after "Rock of Ages" bombed with just $50 million worldwide. The Adam Shankman directed movie musical cost $75 million before marketing making it one of the biggest misfires of the summer.  Cruise's 8 pack abs performance as Stacee Jaxx was one of the film's major selling points, but audiences didn't bite. To make matters worse, by the end of the summer Cruise was once again dealing with stories about his Scientology supervised girlfriend vetting process.  Like Adam Sandler and Paramount Pictures, this has been one summer the former "Top Gun" star would like to forget.
