Herzog has always had a knack for capturing obsessive souls in his work, particularly in his collaborations with actor Klaus Kinski. Of course, it takes one to know one, and in Napoleon I can't help but imagine the always unpredictable filmmaker would find a goldmine. He's malleable to the medium and could even prove an unexpectedly complementary marriage of sensibilities with Kubrick's.
