Scorpion

First Appearance: The Amazing Spider-Man #19
Powers: Super strength, super speed, enhanced agility and a strong grip similar to a scorpion's pincers. He can also scale walls very quickly although he usually uses his hands to punch holes to climb them. He also wears a metal suit of armor which has a mechanical tail which has at times fired projectiles, acid spray or a plasma blast. The tail has can also create a spring which can throw the Scorpion significant distances.  Scorpion is more durable and stronger than Spider-Man.
Pros: In Spider-Man lore, the first Scorpion was Mac Gargan, a investigator hired by J. Jonah Jameson to find out who the Web-Slinger really was.  In a really crazy turn for Jonah, he connects Gargan with a scientist who providers Gargan with the mutated powers of a scorpion, one of a spider's natural predators. Bringing Gargan in could be a new way to re-introduce Jameson to the rebooted franchise.  Gargan also has very questionable morals, he'll basically do anything for money or revenge. That's a departure from the villains Spidey has faced on screen before.
Cons: The Scorpion's costume could really look silly if it resembles the classic look from the comics.  What's appealing about Gargan is that he has so few morals that he could be one of the rare evil villains Peter Parker can't talk back from the dark side. That's an interesting quandary for an inexperienced teenage Wall-Crawler.
