TV Shows on the Bubble 2013
From 'Community' to 'Happy Endings' to 'Hannibal' how are things looking?
BubbleWatch: ABC's 'Malibu Country'
SHOW: "Malibu Country" (ABC)
IN ITS FAVOR: Reba's new sitcom formed a fairly compatible Friday comedy block with "Last Man Standing," averaging 7.4 million viewers and a 1.8 rating among adults 18-49 when you include DVR figures. That's not flashy, but it's sturdy.
AGAINST IT: Like "Last Man Standing," "Malibu Country" has a paucity of buzz and it regularly posted small drops from its lead-in. Those drops are, as you can see, very small, but if "Last Man Standing" isn't exactly a rousing, no-brainer smash, that means "Malibu Country" is just a notch or two less comfortable in its fortunes.
OUR TOTALLY UNINFORMED GUESS: Probably ABC likes the stability of that Friday hour with the two old-fashioned TGIF comedies. The only question regards development and if ABC comes to believe they have something better to pair with Tim Allen. I'd say a renewal is likely, but not guaranteed.
FINAL VERDICT: Cancelled!
