TV Shows on the Bubble 2013
From 'Community' to 'Happy Endings' to 'Hannibal' how are things looking?
BubbleWatch: ABC's 'Last Man Standing'
SHOW: "Last Man Standing" (ABC)
IN ITS FAVOR: "Last Man Standing" was the last man standing of a slew of 2011-2012 freshman comedies dealing with the crisis of masculinity. After a big premiere, it dwindled and ABC shipped it to Friday, but launching a new comedy hour on a tough night, "Last Man Standing" succeeded probably to the upper range of ABC's hopes/expectations. Including DVR figures, "Last Man Standing" averaged a 2.0 rating among adults 18-49 and over 8.3 million viewers per week.
AGAINST IT: "Last Man Standing" doesn't attract much "buzz," not that ABC is looking for "buzz" from a traditional multi-cam comedy airing on Fridays.
OUR TOTALLY UNINFORMED GUESS: "Last Man Standing" is a stealthy success for ABC. It'll be back.
FINAL VERDICT: Renewed!
