TV Shows on the Bubble 2013
From 'Community' to 'Happy Endings' to 'Hannibal' how are things looking?
BubbleWatch: ABC's 'How To Live With Your Parents (For The Rest Of Your Life)'
SHOW: "How To Live With Your Parents (For The Rest Of Your Life)" (ABC)
IN ITS FAVOR: Airing after "Modern Family" seems like it ought to be easy, but it hasn't been a recipe for success. "HTLwYPFtRoYL" had a better launch in that slot than most and it has held up reasonably well in a couple subsequent episodes. ABC loves the cast, which includes Sarah Chalke, Elizabeth Perkins and Brad Garrett. Plus, the network has shown a willingness to renew late-spring comedies that did comparable numbers in this time period, including "Happy Endings" and "Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23" in recent seasons.
AGAINST IT: Critics weren't kind and it remains to be seen what numbers "HTLwYPFtRoYL" is going to settle into once it finishes its current decline.
OUR TOTALLY UNINFORMED GUESS: This one's very much in flux. If you'd asked after the premiere, I'd have said "95 percent for renewal." If you asked me after last week's airing, which came without the benefit of a "Modern Family" lead? "60-40." And after this week's airing that took another big drop? "50-50, but with no room to drop any more." "HTLwYPFtRoYL" still has a handful of airings before a decision has to be made and I think you can count on ABC waiting for as much data as humanly possible.
FINAL VERDICT: Cancelled!
