TV Shows on the Bubble 2012
'Fringe' is renewed, but what of 'Community,' 'Nikita,' 'Cougar Town' and many more?
BubbleWatch: ABC's 'Last Man Standing'
SHOW:"Last Man Standing" (ABC)
IN ITS FAVOR: Leaving aside the steady ratings erosion for the Tim Allen comedy, especially among young viewers, "Last Man Standing" has established what it's capable of doing without any lead-in and with almost no on-air promotion. The show's overall numbers are sturdy-if-unremarkable and if ABC's development includes intriguing pilots that would match well with "LMS," it probably has value.
AGAINST IT: ABC obviously hoped for better from brand name Tim Allen and the audience declines have been steady and the buzz negligible. As a multi-cam comedy, "Last Man Standing" can't be instantly paired with anything on ABC's current schedule, so it may be dependent on something like, hypothetically, that Reba McEntire pilot ABC produced?
OUR TOTALLY UNINFORMED GUESS: You don't want to hear this, but "Last Man Standing" has a better chance of being renewed that a couple shows you probably like more.
