SHOW: "Body of Proof"

IN ITS FAVOR: Under the right circumstances -- usually with heavy promotion and no direct original competition -- this procedural still does OK overall numbers for ABC. Last year, there were reports that "Body of Proof" was doing well internationally, which never hurts. Dana Delany also remains the kind of talent ABC wants to be in business with.

AGAINST IT: "Body of Proof" has only tepid audience support and no critical support and the show's audience skews fairly old. While the audience has occasionally been reasonably sized, there certainly are no signs of growth.

OUR TOTALLY UNINFORMED GUESS: "Body of Proof" was already flagging last year when it was a bubble renewal and, again, there's no sign ABC could point to that there's growing traction. Really, the only thing that could save "Body of Proof" is the international marketplace, which isn't a totally unreasonable prospect. Perhaps ABC orders more episodes, but ships the drama to Fridays where it can't do any harm?
