'Remington Steele'

Premise: After no one takes her seriously on her own, a female detective (Stephanie Zimbalist) opens a private investigation agency under the guise that a male superior, the fictitious Remington Steele, is really the boss.  When a mysterious and suave con man (Pierce Brosnan) shows up claiming to be the real Steele, sparks fly in and out of the office.

Original airdates: 1982-1987

Why a reboot: One of the most ingenious series concepts in the history of television, it's a show that can keep viewers guessing for months about just who Steele is and will the duo ever trust each other to have a real romantic relationship. Can you imagine "Steele" in the age of the internet and recaps? But again, it's all about the casting.
