'Falcon Crest'

'Falcon Crest'

Premise: A more glamorous "Dallas" without the "nuke the fridge" over the top camp of "Dynasty," this hour-long soap opera centered over a divided family's battle over their Napa Valley winery.

Original airdates: 1981-1990

Why a reboot: With the success of new generation of "Dallas" on TNT, why not bring "Crest" back into the fold? The California wine business is even bigger now and more lucrative than it was in the 80's and the San Francisco/Silicon Valley connection is more timely than ever. And just think of the out of work divas who could play the matriarch role once portrayed by Jane Wyman. Sharon Stone? Fay Dunaway? Glenn Close? And - dare to dream - Kristin Scott Thomas?  Plus, isn't time this theme graced the small screen again?
