11. 'Grease'

11. 'Grease'

This 1978 musical is an example of all the right pieces coming together to bake something so sweet and entertaining its been sampled for generations.  Like "The Sound of Music," "Grease" continues to survive the test of time because of the charismatic performances by John Travolta (coming off the massive hit "Saturday Night Fever" at the time) and rising Aussie pop star Olivia Newton-John as well as catchy songs that were never as dated as the musical's '50s setting. The film spawned two number one hits, "Grease" and "You're The One That I Want," and two other top 10 hits, "Sandy" and "Hopelessly Devoted To You." The movie has become such a classic that you can show it to some kids today and they'll be dancing to "Greased Lightnin" quicker than you know it.
