The Stanley Kubrick Exhibit at LACMA
The newly opened showcase runs through June of next year
"Spartacus" is the only film in Kubrick's filmography that isn't really "his." He stepped in to take over the helm after star Kirk Douglas -- with whom Kubrick had a nice relationship on "Paths of Glory" -- grew to no longer trust the film's original director, Anthony Mann. The film would go on to receive six Oscar nominations, winning four, including Best Costume Design in a color production. Here is one of the many garbs Douglas wore throughout the film.
