You can't give Baker credit for Tom Cruise's hothead producer in Ben Stiller's "Tropic Thunder" (that was six-time Oscar nominee and two-time winner Michèle Burke and her team), but Robert Downey Jr.'s obsessive method actor who undergoes a skin pigmentation procedure to play an African American soldier is all Baker and company. And, like with another supporting performance mentioned later on in the countdown, Downey owed a chunk of his awards attention for the performance to Baker's memorable transformation.
