16. "A Bug's Life" (John Lasseter, 1998)
Unlike the majority of the Pixar's portfolio, A Bug’s Life wasn’t able to rise above the simplicity of another gimmick setting and actually mean something. An amplified telling of the ant and grasshopper fable, the film showcases typically beautiful animation and one of the more creative ensembles of the films on this list, but it doesn't transcend like the studio's true hallmark offerings. — Kristopher Tapley
