The house Wes Anderson built: A look at the director's singular troupe
His latest, 'Moonrise Kingdom,' bows at Cannes today
Appeared in: "Bottle Rocket," "Rushmore," "The Royal Tenenbaums" (pictured), "The Darjeeling Limited"
What he brings: Character actor Kumar Pallana absolute deserves a nod here, even if he is used sparingly throughout Anderson's filmography. The director kick-started Pallana's career at 78 years old when the actor appeared in "Bottle Rocket," plucked from obscurity in the Dallas coffee shop he owned, which was frequented by Anderson and Owen Wilson. (Pallana's son, Dipak, it should be noted, has been along for the ride, appearing in Anderson's first three features.)
